Theatre is created…

Theatre is created by many hands doing many jobs…

One of the unsung positions in theatre is set building. These folks don’t get the spotlight or the applause. But they work hard. Very hard. And they create a crucial part of a production.
We want to take a moment to spotlight not only the people who created our Arsenic and Old Lace set – but also their actual creation.
This set is unlike anything Broken Leg Theater has ever had before. This set is a character in and of itself. Walking through this set is like walking into the home of the Brewster sisters. It is warm and cozy. It is detailed and inviting. It is a full interior build that was lovingly created by a team of people who volunteered their time to make it happen.
We want to thank Aaron Hicks, Gary Kratzer and Drew Perkinson (BLT Dads who don’t even have children in this show), Tommy Doukas and Les Harper (who both played double duty as not only set builders but are also featured actors in the show) and the team of painters who came out on paint day. These people sacrificed their weekends for the last few months so that this set could be incredible.
This set is breathtaking. You don’t want to miss it.
