Broken Leg Theater launched its first season in October 2014 as a non-fee based 501(c)3 non-profit community theatre that strives to give everyone quality experiences in the performing arts. Ten seasons later BLT has become more than we ever thought possible. As a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers, including our Executive Board, we rely on donations from the community we serve to carry out our mission of providing high quality theatre experiences to all, whether it be on stage or in the audience.
BLT’s goal is to inspire, create, and encourage in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas by offering opportunities to the youngest and oldest of our citizens, inviting them to share their gifts, time, talents and resources while building a bridge between all generations. BLT prides itself in having an almost exclusively teen-run technical and stage crew which offers mentoring opportunities that allow our children to gain vital education and experience in the theatre industry, some of whom have moved on to pursue theatre as a career. We foster confidence and self-expression to create happier, healthier, and more productive citizens who, in turn, will give back to their community. All of this comes with production costs, technical needs, reserves for families experiencing financial hardships, and we greatly appreciate the generosity of our donors in helping us continue to achieve all that our BLT family can imagine.
By investing in Broken Leg Theater and supporting us as we continue to provide quality theatre to all, you are joining us in nurturing the love of arts, building traditions within families, and uniting our community in the power of dreams fulfilled no matter a person’s station in life, gender, identity, race, orientation, age, abilities, or financial status. We thank you for considering our request for a valuable gift to our mission and ask that you join us as we continue our 2024/25 season.
